HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT

Welcome to the LUESD-Human Resources website. Our mission is to provide exemplary human resource services to our employees, prospective employees and to our community. We will do so in a friendly, positive, cooperative and helpful manner. It is the intent of our department to ensure that our efforts are focused on what is in the best interest of our students and our staff.

Our department is responsible for the following service areas for certificated, classified and management personnel:

Manage, develop and implement personnel procedures related to applications, examinations, eligibility, promotion, demotion, transfer, reassignment, dismissal, resignation, layoff, reemployment, vacation, leave-of-absence (including FMLA, PDL, CFRA, AB2393 Parental Leaves), compensation, licensing and certification; recruitment; selection; supervision and evaluation; classification/compensation; annual notifications and mandated trainings; NCLB compliance; credentials, assignment monitoring, salary placement and staffing; New Teacher Induction; labor relations and bargaining contract management; employment verifications; absence verifications; certificated substitute coordination; health benefits; district complaint and compliance officer; district volunteer coordinator; position control; investigations; grievances; workers' compensation; board agenda (personnel items); interpret personnel procedures, policies/regulations, as well as state and federal laws and California Education Code; and, personnel records maintenance.
