What's Happening in the Library?

Book Swap Cart

You may notice a red book cart outside the office at Cinnamon, this is our Book Swap Cart! This program is a way for students to swap or trade their personal books for something different!

  • Books must be school appropriate
  • Students need parents permission to swap books
  • Students are asked to swap one book at a time
  • Students may keep or trade in swapped books
  • Students choices are not monitored
  • Book donations can be made directly to the cart or to the librarian
Scholastic Book Fair and eWallet

Keep your eyes open for our next book fair in May! The Book Fair Jungle will be taking over our library with lots of activities and contests!

Just a reminder that, Scholastic has started a new program for students to use during the book fair, called eWallet! This program is a digital wallet that parents can set up for their children to  use to purchase books.

  • Available during the book fair
  • Parents need to go to the book fair home page to set up an account with a preset spending limit.
  • Students need to let the cashier know that they have an eWallet. They don't have to bring anything to the fair!
  • Students may not spend over the amount set.
  • At the end of the book fair, unspent money is credited back to the parent's account.
  • This is great for family members that live out of town!!

Read to Succeed Program

The Six Flags Read to Succeed program will be starting in October. this program allows children to 'earn' a ticket to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom!

  • Students need to read and log 6 hours of non-assigned reading.
  • Students can log hours online or on a paper log.
  • To log hours online, students will need their teacher's code. Codes can be picked up in the library.
  • Logs can be picked up in the Library.
  • Logs are due in the beginning of April.
  • Students may only earn 1 ticket.
  • Tickets come in May and are good for this coming summer.
  • Tickets are not transferable.

OverDrive e-Book Library

Don't forget that our E-Book system, OverDrive, is available all year round! Student's login information should be the same as their AR login; user name = student ID number and password = student's first name.

OverDrive has added a new format to access our online library, called Sora! On Sora, the books are the same and your account is the same. In fact, your log in information is the same as well!  Sora just looks different and has some fun, interactive features. Be sure to check it out!

Both OverDrive and Sora are available in the Apple and Google app stores. You can also access OverDrive and Sora through the links on our webpage and on the student's Chrome "Student Bookmarks" tab. If you would like more information on OverDrive or Sora, please contact Mrs. Ahumada!
