LOCAL CONTROL ACCOUNTABILITY PLAN (LCAP)

In 2013-2014 the California legislature enacted a new school funding law called the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). The LCFF makes important changes in the way California schools are funded.  The LCFF also changes the way  school districts and schools make decisions about how to spend education funds.

The LCFF

  • Requires school districts to involve parents in planning and decision making
  • Shifts spending decisions from the state to the local school district
  • Requires school districts to focus on the eight key areas that help all students succeed
  • Provides extra funding for students with greater challenges
  • Gives school districts more flexibility for how to spend money to improve local schools

This year, with input from parents, students, and other stakeholder groups, the district will review/analyze the 15-16 LCAP and make revisions for 16-17.
