ABOUT BRIDGES ACADEMY
Bridges Academy is LUESD’s newest school and opened in August 2013. Bridges Academy is located in the northwest section of Lemoore, residing directly behind the District Office on the corner of 19th Avenue and Cinnamon.
Bridges Academy was established to serve mandatory and other expelled students, students referred by a School Attendance Review Board, and other high-risk students in grades 6-8. The 360 minute instructional day includes academic programs that provide challenging curriculum and individual attention to student learning modalities and abilities. Bridges Academy will also focus on the development of pro-social skills, student self-esteem and resiliency. Students benefit from learning support services that include district behavioral specialist, psychologists, and pupil discipline personnel. Students also receive collaborative services from Kings County Probation and Kings County Behavioral Health.
The primary goal of Bridges Academy is to ensure academic and character growth for each student, to enable a smooth transition to their traditional school.
