Last night at the Lemoore Union Elementary School District Board meeting, Liberty Middle School was awarded the Virtues and Character Recognition Award from the Fresno State Bonner Center for Character Education and Citizenship. This prestigious award is given to schools that have developed a positive school climate by teaching and reinforcing positive character traits such as responsibility, trust, family, respect, and caring.
Our Liberty ASB representatives were also in attendance, sharing their Liberty experiences from this school year and highlighting the strong sense of community and character that makes Liberty so special.
We’re so proud of our students and staff for continuing to inspire excellence and lead with integrity.

Our 8th graders had their graduation pictures taken today. Proofs, along with purchasing instructions, will be available in a few weeks from Garcia Sports Photography. We are incredibly grateful to the GSP team for their dedication and hard work.
Additionally, be sure to mark your calendars for the Liberty Promotion Ceremony on June 4th. More details will be shared soon.

Today was Pastel Colors Day at school, and our students looked amazing in their soft, colorful outfits. Tomorrow, April 9, we’re excited for Adam Sandler Dress Up Day, so start planning your best Sandler-inspired look.
Remember, attendance is key to making the most of these fun events. We love seeing our students here and engaged, so make sure you don’t miss out on the fun. See you tomorrow, Patriots!

Today was Jersey Day! We had so many students participate today. Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 8th is Pastel Colors Day. We can’t wait to see everyone in their pastel shades.
Also, our 8th graders will be taking their graduation pictures during PE classes tomorrow. The dress code still applies, and solid colored collared shirts are encouraged. Students will be wearing loaner gowns for the photos.
Attendance is so important, and we’re excited to have everyone participate as we get closer to the Promotion Ceremony! Let’s finish strong!

This past Saturday, our Winter Guard and Winter Percussion had the incredible opportunity to perform at the Sierra Cup Indoor Competition at the Save Mart Center on the Fresno State campus. It was their final competition of the season, and they went up against top groups from Fresno, Clovis, and Madera.
Our Winter Percussion earned 4th place, while the Winter Guard brought home the 1st place win, capping off a remarkable season.
Congratulations to both groups for their hard work and outstanding performances! We are so proud of all your hard work and dedication.

Last week, Liberty Middle School hosted the CMEA Jazz Band Festival, featuring 30 bands from Kings, Tulare, Fresno, and Kern counties. Our students played a key role in organizing the event, from hosting bands to assisting judges.
Both the Liberty Jazz Band and 8th Grade Jazz Flex Class performed and received High Excellent ratings with impressive scores: Liberty Jazz Band: 90 and 8th Grade Jazz Flex: 88
Congratulations to our jazz bands for an outstanding season.

Today, April 4th, is National School Librarian Day! We want to thank our Media Specialist at Liberty, Mrs. Yang. She’s always ready to offer tech support to both staff and students on campus, while also providing a safe, welcoming space where students can read or hang out with friends.
Let’s show our appreciation for all the hard work school librarians do! Take a moment today to thank a librarian or simply enjoy a good book.

Our Liberty 7th graders will be going to The Tech Interactive in San Jose on April 23.
Please make sure your student's permission slip is signed in Parentsquare.

Kona Ice will be here on next Friday, April 11th.
In addition to our dress up week next week, our Liberty students can win a FREE Kona Ice. If students come to class on time (no tardies) every day during the week of April 7-11, they can be one of 10 lucky winners. Good luck, Liberty. Attendance EVERY day.

We are proud to welcome the 2025 CMEA Jazz Festival to our campus on Thursday, April 3 and Friday, April 4. Bands from all over Central California will be performing for a panel of judges in the cafeteria and then receiving a feedback clinic in the media center.
With the additional buses and other traffic in the area, we want to remind everyone to be extra cautious and aware of visiting students and school buses that may be parked in front of Liberty in one of the more popular pick up areas on Liberty Drive. Thank you for your cooperation!

Week of 4/7 - 4/11
Spring dress up week. Attendance EVERY Day!
Please note that Monday, April 7th is NOT an early release day, but Friday, April 11 is an early out day for Spring Break.
Spring Break is April 14 through the 21st. School resumes on Tuesday, April 22.

This past weekend, both Liberty Winter Percussion and Winter Guard competed at the SVWAA Championship held at the Golden Eagle Arena at Lemoore College. Both teams delivered outstanding performances. Our Winter Guard earned the bronze medal in the Junior High Open Class, securing third place, while our Winter Percussion took home the gold medal in the Junior High A Class, finishing in first place. We are incredibly proud of how they represented Liberty and their dedication to excellence. Congratulations to both teams on their success!

Every day counts! Regular attendance helps students stay on track and ensures they are fully prepared for what's ahead.
If your student is in need of extra math support, they can attend afterschool math tutoring or Saturday School. Check out the attached flyer for dates and times.
Please note that there is NO Saturday School, this Saturday, March 29th.

Save the Date: our Liberty students will be taking their 8th grade promotion ceremony pictures on Tuesday, April 8th, during their regularly scheduled PE classes.
Proofs will be given to students at a later date and parents/guardians will be able to order online.

This week in class, our 8th grade students had an exciting hands on science lab where they explored how energy travels as mechanical waves.
They investigated how energy transfers through different materials and how changes in energy can affect the shape of a wave. From increasing amplitude to observing faster frequencies, they learned the cool science behind wave behavior. The class also dove into the differences between Transverse Waves and Longitudinal Waves. Students got to see how energy moves in different directions and how it impacts the world around us.
It was an amazing learning experience, and the students had a blast experimenting and discovering the power of waves.

What an amazing day for our Liberty Concert Band (Blue) at the CMEA Festival at Fresno High School.
We are beyond proud of how much the students have improved in just the past few weeks. Their hard work and dedication truly paid off as we earned an Excellent Rating. They represented Liberty with so much pride and passion, and we couldn't be happier with how the day turned out.
Here's to even more growth and success!

Yesterday, our track team competed in their first meet of the season at the Bob Fraley Invitational, held at Lemoore High School. Our students did an amazing job, and we couldn't be prouder of their performance. Here's to a successful season ahead.

Eight Liberty students were selected to join the Tulare Kings County Music Educators Association (TKMEA) Honor Jazz Band. They auditioned yesterday at Los Tules Middle School in Tulare, competing with over 60 other middle school students from both counties. Only 20 students were chosen for the band. They will be performing at the Honor Jazz Concert on Saturday, April 26th, in Tulare.
Congratulations to Antonio Menjivar, Rayden Alvarez, Leia Valdeabella, Myumi Peyegrin, Noellee Ann Toribio, Ariella Garza, Jolee De La Mora, and Solomon Bega. We are so proud of all your hard work!
