Just a reminder that there is no school Friday, October 30th. We will see all are in person students and students continuing distance learning on Monday, November 2. All students returning must have completed the Parent/Guardian Daily COVID-19 Health Screening Document and the Student Required Entry Form Document. These must be reviewed and verified through Aeries Parent Portal or signed and brought with your child on the first day of school (Copies were mailed home).

As we prepare for our ability to reopen to in person instruction, we would like to encourage all families and all students to take advantage of the free flu shot clinic being offered by the Kings County Department of Public Health. There will also be free COVID-19 testing available at these locations as well. Please note that COVID-19 testing or the flu shot are not currently required for students and families, but when we return to in person instruction it will be very important to reduce our flu illnesses as the symptoms are similar to COVID-19 and result in lengthy quarantines from school. Mientras nos preparamos para regresar a la instrucción en persona, nos gustaría alentar a todas las familias y a todos los estudiantes a aprovechar la clínica gratuita de vacunación contra la gripe que ofrece el Departamento de Salud Pública del Condado Kings. También habrá pruebas de COVID-19 gratuitas disponibles en estos lugares. Hello LUESD families. The free meal program will continue at least through December, but we still need parents to apply for the lunch program by October 7. You can complete an application by going to our school website. Or, you can go directly to the easy meals website at www.ezmealapp.com. Distance Learning Questionnaire This is a reminder that if you are requesting that your child continue in a distance learning classroom for the remainder of the school year, please fill out the questionnaire available on the district website by Friday, October 2nd at 4PM (https://forms.gle/AXjv1SRk359VvVpS9) If you would like your child to resume with in-person learning when our schools are prepared to bring additional students back to campus, then you will NOT need to complete the questionnaire.

Thank you to the parents/guardians, students, and staff that came safely together for our parent teacher conferences. If you didn't make your scheduled appointment, please reach out to your student's advisory teacher so we can reschedule for Thursday or Friday.

Kings County is making significant progress as illustrated by the data represented by the Blueprint for a Safe Economy. Based on the status of the data, we are getting close to safely opening our schools. In preparation for schools to re-open, our district will be following the COVID-19 Industry Guidance as well as the LUESD Re-Opening Plan to allow our students to return to in-person learning at each one of our schools in the safest manner possible. We understand that some families may be unable to send their children back to a traditional school in-person setting for medical, health or other reasons. LUESD will offer two instructional setting options once our schools fully re-open: 1) In-Person Learning (Traditional School) and 2) Distance Learning (Learning from home). LUESD is asking families that would like their student's to continue school through distance learning fill out the LUESD Instructional Setting Selection Questionnaire (https://forms.gle/AXjv1SRk359VvVpS9) .
