Military Family Support

Lemoore Union Elementary School District (LUESD) is proud to serve the many military families who work and live in our community. Approximately 25 percent of the school division’s student population is comprised of active-duty, military-dependent youth, and LUESD is committed to providing support, resources and enriching programs to enhance their educational experiences and support their families.

This webpage is designed to provide information to military families that are relocating to Lemoore and have questions about registration, school locations, academic programs, and calendars. It has links to additional resources and contact information for military school counselors who can provide additional assistance to relocating or current LUESD military families.

Military School Counselors

Adapting to the changes that come with military life can be especially challenging for military children. LUESD partners with Military and Family Life Counselors (MFLCs) and Naval Air Station Lemoore to provide 2 full-time MFLCs who are master’s or doctorate-level licensed counselors. The MFLC program is focused on supporting military students as an extension of the school division’s guidance and counseling program. MFLCs assist Active-duty, National Guard, and Reserve students, parents, and guardians with non-medical counseling support on topics including, but not limited to, deployment, separation, moving, self-esteem, resolving conflicts, problem solving, communication, fear, grief, and divorce.

MFLC also provide professional learning opportunities to school staff to better understand the unique needs of military-connected students and assist educators with strategies in the classroom for cultivating a deeper understanding of the factors that shape social-emotional development.
