Happy School Psychologist Week to our school psychologists! Thank you for helping Lemoore Union Elementary School District students and teachers remove barriers to learning and for helping our students find success! Your are appreciated!! This year's theme is "Together We Shine" which is derived from how we see hope after several challenging years. We have all faced difficulties created by the pandemic, social injustice and inequity, economic stress, and challenges to mental and physical health. Reconnecting with others and reestablishing the sense of being valued parts of a greater whole empowers students and adults to find purpose and possibility. #schoolpsychologistweek

MEET THE YDO Officer Gonzales has a diverse role in the school and community. He will assist the school administration in maintaining a safe and secure environment. YDOs support school wide efforts to educate students on the consequences of unacceptable behavior, both in the school and in the community. In addition, the YDO works to educate students in crime prevention and personal safety. We are proud to have Officer Gonzales as part of the LUESD Family! “I chose to work with the youth because they are the future of our community. If I can teach work ethic, respect, and responsibility, then the youth can do anything they put their minds to. I am excited to work as the YDO at LUESD because everyday I get to interact with the youth and change one life at a time. I’m excited to spread positivity and help prepare the youth as they become young adults.” - Officer Gonzalez

Volunteer mentors in a quality program can reach at-risk students and inspire their interest in education and attending school regularly. Studies have shown that students who meet regularly with their mentors are 52% less likely than their peers to skip a day of school. Help one child feel special while also having a positive effect on the learning environment in an entire classroom. http://bit.ly/1oqfID7 #attendanceawareness #LUESDStrong #ShowUpLUESD

Join us in recognizing Constitution and Citizenship Day! On September 17, 1787, the United States Constitution was signed in Philadelphia and has served as our country’s foundation of law and democracy for the past 235 years. This commemoration started in 1940, when Congress passed a resolution authorizing and requesting the President to issue an annual proclamation setting aside the third Sunday in May for the public recognition of all who had attained the status of American citizenship. In 1952 Congress repealed this joint resolution and passed a new law moving the date to September 17 to commemorate the signing of the Constitution.
