On October 2, 2019, your child will bring home a Federal Impact Aid survey form. We appreciate you taking the time to fill out this survey and promptly return it to your child’s school. Each completed survey is extremely important as these forms help bring in federal dollars to help the Lemoore Union Elementary School District with the cost of educating our students.
Under the Federal Impact Aid program, Congress provides financial assistance to affected school districts. Impact Aid is designed to assist school districts that have lost property tax revenue due to the presence of tax-exempt federal property or that have experienced increased expenditures due to the enrollment of federally connected children, including children living on Indian lands or military installations. The program supports local school districts with concentrations of children who reside on Indian lands or military bases or who have parents/guardians employed on eligible federal properties.

Attendance and achievement are directly linked. Students learn foundation skills, like math and
reading, in the early years. Children who miss school in the elementary years are more likely to
struggle academically and, in later years, to dropout entirely. #attendanceawarness #attendancematters #everydaycounts #schooleveryday #IHeartA2A

Did you know that children can suffer academically if they miss 10 percent of the school year? That’s just 18 days or 2 to 3 days a month. And that can add up before you know it. This September our district is celebrating Attendance Awareness Month with a renewed push to get all kids to school—on time, every day. Research shows us that absences add up. We know there will be days when your child will miss school, especially when they’re sick. But we also know that nationwide, as many as 7.5 million students miss 10 percent of the school year. This drastically contributes to students falling behind academically because they have missed too many days.
So this September, for Attendance Awareness Month, let’s work together as a community – to get all kids to school – on time, every day. Thank you for your support as our kids belong in school!!
